Meditation with Munchkins
August 10 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am$25
I am very excited to bring this class to The Center for Balanced Living again for the summer. There will be 3 classes. (The same class will be repeated 3 times, all classes will include different discussions as the people attending will be different. So you may want to attend all 3.) I bring excitement to this munchkin class as it is my belief that every child can gain something from a daily meditative practice. And I would like to see meditation taught in our local schools, all ages, all schools.) It is a beginner’s class for children and at least one of their parent’s ages 6-12. If you fall outside of these guidelines just contact me with your questions.
Sunday, June 9th 3-4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 10th 8-9:30 a.m.
Saturday, August 10th 8-9:30 a.m.
$25 for each child-parent pair
You will learn what meditation is, what mindfulness is, the difference between the two, how it can help your child in a variety of different ways (to help them focus better in school, how to deal with their emotions, etc.) and why meditation and mindfulness are important to learn as a family.
Did you know that regular practice of meditation has several beneficial effects on our children’s emotional, mental and intellectual development? Yes, it helps children tune into themselves, sleep better and develop better social interactions.
There is an emerging body of research that indicates mindfulness can help children improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. In short, it helps with emotional regulation and cognitive focus.
Sign up early as space is limited. Please share this event with your friends and family. The more people and children who learn meditation to more peaceful and harmonious our world will become.
